Found this disassembled and the column just about to be cut up for scrap. Took home a pile of rusted parts and after much cleaning and head-scratching managed to get it back together and working.
Haven't managed to free up the cam that engages the speed reduction gears yet, but as is it will turn as slow as 100rpm with a 2 3/4" motor sheave. Also have 2 1/4" and 6 3/4" sheaves for the motor.
The auto-feed is a nice feature.
Quill has a #4 morse taper. The quill is attached, via a chain and a couple of pulleys, to a weight in the column, so the quill stays put when you let go of the handle.
Weight is over 1000lbs is my guess.
Has porcelin Cutler-Hammer switch with brass plate, and big old GE 1 hp 110/220 RI motor.
