I was alerted to this Scroll Saw being in a second hand outlet in Pietermaritzburg. Being a rainy day, I opted to drive the 50 kms to go and have a look at it as I was told it had the variable speed attachment. I was hoping it would have the 882 lamp as well. No luck on the lamp but the saw was complete, it had obviously been stashed somewhere as it was covered in grime and dust. Although the electrical cord was badly frayed we fired it up in the shop (I took the blade out just in case). The 1/3 hp Delta motor with double ended shaft and on board on/off switch ran smoothly. I was able to reduce the wanted price so it was loaded and taken home. It will be given a good makeover but will leave me with the dilemma of choosing which one to keep, as I already have a Tauco model with normal 4 speed pulley. Workshop space limitations do not allow scroll saw stacking!
The scroll saw is tagged Delta but a Tauco decal is also attached. Normally a Tauco tag would have been attached instead of the Delta tag. See my Tauco Scroll saw.
