Comments:
I recently acquired the correct motor for my saw from my boss's father, who wasn't interested in sinking money into repairing the basket case on his saw.I, on the other hand, was all too happy to salvage it in an ongoing attempt to make my workshop all Delta. The original centrifugal switch and overload were totaled, so I decided to upgrade to a solid state switch and found a donor overload from a deceased radial arm saw. The motor looked like the bottom of a shoe from glue drips and lumber cutoffs landing on it, but actually turned out decent, considering the tag is almost illegible. The important thing is that my saw is now period correct, and will saw through hardwoods with power to spare.Unfortunately you can't see my handiwork for the extension table. Sigh.
