I received a query regarding the definition of "elbow sander", which is referred to in OSHA regulations. I didn't know the definition but with the assistance of fellow OWWMer Erik Strombom I came up with the catalog pictures below. I am uploading them here since we currently do not have any Photo Index entries of similar machines.

Pictgures are from the American Wood Working Machinery Co. catalog that is online, in the Sanders section. I believe this catalog is ca. 1910.

EDIT: I did find one similar machine in the Photo Index that is not identified as an elbow sander, but as a "bracket arm sander":
