Black Diamond Combined Band Saw Filing and Setting Machine. 9/4/07

Here is another entry in my series of band saw filing gear. This is an interesting little machine that I keep seeing all over in old catalogs. Oliver, Yates American, Star Machinery Co, and Hanchett catalogs, among others. For being so prolific in the dirty paper I don't see very many in the wild, and this is the first photo entry for Black Diamond on the MS. I own 2 of these. One has a small Oliver brass chicken tag with no serial number stamped in it and is the belt driven variety. The guy I bought it from thought it was some kind of tractor sharpener. The one shown in these photos is a pedestal mounted, motor driven model with Black Diamond badge. I loved the pedestal and it also has the setting attachments (in the ziplock bag at the bottom). This is in working condition but I have not used it yet. I do intend to try it out on my small band saw blades. A new file is all that's needed to put this one into service.
