Craftsman bench grinder model 397.19391, 6" x ¾" face x ½" arbor.
1/3hp, 4.7A, 115V, 3580 idle rpm, Design# C3554, OEM lamp and quench tray.

This grinder runs extremely smooth, even without the rubber isolators in the base.
It is presently mounted to a heavy duty Craftsman cast iron and steel stand.
I use this machine for tool sharpening.
The one piece tool rests have been replaced with special jigs.
The small inexpensive one piece plastic eye shields are removed (I wear goggles).
The body (end bells) and inner guards are die cast aluminum.
The outer wheel guards are stamped steel.

On the left is the Craftsman model 19495 tool sharpening holder, made by Welliver & Sons (source code 335). The wheel is a Craftsman model 64256; 6" x ½", 54grit, hardness H, pink aluminum oxide.

On the right is a tool rest from a newer Craftsman wet wheel knife sharpener, modified to fit the inner guard attachment hole. The wheel is a newer Craftsman 5" x ¾", 100grit, soft white aluminum oxide.

07/17/1996:
Purchased this used grinder at Tool Traders (local used tool store that turned into ReTool).

2010:
Changed: RH wheel to a NOS vintage 6"x1" Craftsman A100, RH tool rest to fabricated two piece ¼" thick steel.
I primarily use this side for hand sharpening drill bits.
