Comments:
This machine is identified on the nameplate as a 12 3/4" x 20" bed planer, BUT; it only has 12.5" between the guides. The knives are 12 3/4" long, however. Replacement knives are a little hard to acquire; Original spec is (3-knife cutterhead) 12 3/4" x 7/8" x 1/8" thick. I found the best price between 4 different knife suppliers from Wilke Machinery in PA. email for contact info.I bought the machine off craigslist for a bargain. It is mounted on a heavy duty cart of some sort, not original stand, but it works well. Has 1.5HP motor--very large for 1.5HP--draws 19.2 amps(110v--9.6 in 220V)---seems more like 2HP motor to me, but it is OLD--they don't make things the way they used to. I have it wired for 220v. Machine is quiet, relatively vibration free, and a powerhouse. Previous owner had screwed a 4" heating duct onto the outfeed as a dust collector inlet, which works alright with my 850cfm mini collector. If anyone finds an owners manual, PLEASE EMAIL ME!!!!!!!!! I'd love to know the proper procedure for aligning the infeed/outfeed clamp pressure!!!!!
