We picked up this very nice condition, 1967, Model E straight line glue joint rip saw last year. This trip the girls stayed at home and it was just me and the boys going to pick it up. It was really fun; we ate junk food and drank sodas. On the way home we had a very nice man pull up and tell us we lost something on the exit ramp. I thought immediately of the mag switch cover; its always the mag switch cover. So we pulled over and the switch cover was still there. We went back and retrieved one of the little pressure roller head screw cover castings, that look like the empire state building, from the top of the saw that was in the grass, still intact and unharmed, by the side of the road. Boy was I glad to get that piece back! So this is still a complete and undamaged saw. I am just starting to clean her up and it looks like it will be an easy restoration.
It looks to be pretty much all original with the Worthington chain drive. The 20 HP motor was an upgrade, this model came standard with a 15 HP. The kickback fingers are in very good shape as is the chain. This one came with a couple of cool accessories, A really nice heavy gauge dust chute with a hinged flap door, for easily removing little strips that get sucked into the collection area, and a nicely done bolt on chain curtain as an extra kickback safety device. This will be a great saw. I like these saws.
