My shop is pretty small, so I was looking for a saw to set up in my garage to cross-cut long boards and cut down plywood. Found this at a neighbors garage sale. The top looked like what's left in the bottom of a coffee pot when it boils dry, so a friend was kind enough to bead-blast the saw top, extension tables and body for me. Made no attempt to match the original color of the body, but I kind of prefer this to that awful sandy brown color. When I got this saw the tilt mechanism wouldn't work and the blade height required two men and a boy to effect changes! Some serious work with mineral spirits, a wire brush and eventually a pick awl set things to working right. Must have cleaned ten pounds of sawdust out of the motor, too, and it sure works a lot better now! Added a new cord and a new belt and this is one sweet-running piece of old iron! Must have been fun, 'cause my brother found an old machine--just like my Dad's, that he has--and I've started refurbishing that one!
