Craftsman/Double A Products 8" x 1¼" ball bearing, belt driven bench grinder.
ALL cast iron construction with 15/16" steel arbor, turned down to ¾-10 threaded ends.
Machined cast iron 3" pulley.
The 8" x 1¼" wheels are only rated for 3108rpm. Maximum pulley on a 1725rpm motor is 5" (2½" with a 3450rpm motor).
>>HISTORY<<
I've been looking for one of these grinders for years.
Finally, this one appeared on ebay and I got it in July 2007.
I was so eager to run this grinder that I temporarily fastened it to a flimsey wooden stand from a previous machine and powered it with a Craftsman 1/2hp 1725rpm motor.
Update 7Dec08: restoration and reassembly complete (unfortunately I couldn't save the decals).
Primer-Krylon gray spray can
Top coat-Krylon 1250 Caramel Latte spray can (close match to Craftsman Power-Bronze motors)
New bearings-Nachi 6204ZZ (original-SKF 62042Z) double shielded
Right wheel-p/n 10014 8x1¼x¾ A60 grade N (original)
Left wheel-p/n 10015 8x1¼x¾ A36 grade N (original)
Reattached emblems with 4-40 stainless steel screws (tapped original drive screw holes)
Update-12Jul09:
- Completed wooden stand and attached OneWay jigs.
- Craftsman/Emerson 113.19052 ¾ hp 3450 rpm motor with cast iron 2½" pulley, refurbished with new bearings.
- Desk lamp was a $1 garage sale find. Clamps to 1½" top overhang in back.
