This saw was owned by fisherman from Beverly,Ma. He got it from a machine tools auction in about 1950. It was in his workshop from then till 2002 when he passed away. He was my mentor in the lobstering business having been a fisherman all his life. I was 30 years younger and we hit off a great friendship for the years I knew him. We were almost like father and son. We would build our own lobster traps of oak which we purchased from a mill in New hampshire. This table saw was the crown jewel in the shop. I could push 1" oak boards thru it all day and you could not slow it down. When my friend died his wife gave me the saw, she new how close we were and I am thankful she did. I continued to build 100's of traps on my own using this saw in my shop now. I am no longer fishing,but the Darra-James is still ripping away. It has a belt driven 2hp single ph motor (old school motor)and a 3/4 inch arbor. The original rip fence and mitre guage.
