This is my 1957 8" Delta Rockwell jointer (37-300) with Cast Iron stand. I aquried the unit for $400 in November of 2002 from a guy that had it in his garage. It was a bit of an eye sore up sitting in dirt and the base was rusted. The beds were flat and had been lapped but we unprotected and had a nice layer of rust. I believe at some point most the jointer was painted as well as the base, to a light grey (they did a pretty nice job). I grit blasted the base and painted with the rustoleum dark machine grey. I also added a dust hood (with double sided tape as not to drill the Base.
The motor is a 1 HP powermatic which someone painted as well. The only 2 major pieces missing were the motor cover (the big bulb) and a gib that a friend made for me since a new one was $34 from Delta. Delta provided the born on date.

Update 2/20/2007
I finally found a motor cover to give my jointer that "pregnant" look. The cover came attached to another jointer. Now this one is whole thank you Bill Simmeth!
