I acquired both of these saws in January of this year from different people, one in New York where it was purchased previously from the local school wood shop, and the other in State College PA from a private owner who received it in pay for some construction work. I set them both up on one shopbuilt stand with a router table placed in between. This set-up creates a full 8' of usable work space. I became interested in the saws because of the other Shopsmith tools that I own. Both have mostly original paint and required many hours of clean-up and tune-up. I acquired a third one of these that I used to put the other 2 in perfect condition. Since I have acquired them I have no idea how I got along without the RAS in the shop. These units will run all of the Shopsmith special purpose tools. They have a speed range of 1700 to 6400 rpm, that is changed with the simple turning of the speed dial. I have set one up with a special table made from a Shopsmith main table, this table is used for drum sanding and shaping.
