This machine was purchased new by my dad, probably from Montgomery Wards, since they were the main distributor of Shopsmiths at that time. I learned woodworking skills on this machine from him as a kid. I inherited it in the mid 1980's and restored it at that time. It, along with a similar 10ER I found & restored last year make up my wood shop. Besides the basic 5 functions: tablesaw, 12" disk sander, lathe, drill press, and horizontal boring machine, I also have several other Shopsmith options. They include: drum sander, shaper, bandsaw, jigsaw, and mortising jig.
