I acquired this Drill Press from an aircraft mechanic. He said it was his late father's who served as a fighter pilot on the USS Yorktown. I have been looking for a good DP for months. FS ad on CL: "Nice Older Delta Drill Press". Made an hour drive in 50 minutes. Pleasently surprised. Seemed all there except for oem switch and rod. Curiously, I have a nos C/H #1115 Delta switch & rod, courtesy of my Father. Thanks Dad! First arn I've bought and can put right to work. This machine was not very used, NO ARC of SHAME!
The nickle stood-->Its a Delta Milwaukee. The round c/i base is not in the 1938 Delta Catalog, although the #800 1/3 hp motor is. I just discovered that my Uncle in MN has three of the four optional spindles laying in a bench drawer, NOS!(for 20+ years). hehehehe. Thanks to those who came before me!
