Comments:
This is an early 6" jointer that I believe dates from the late 1930s. It was manufactured before Delta started putting serial numbers on these machines. It includes the #656 stand with dust chute but does not have the #661 aluminum belt guard which was an option. It has a 1/2 HP Brown-Brockmeyer R-I motor which looks to be around the same vintage as the jointer so it was probably the original motor. It has its original Delta light grey paint and original decals on the jointer fence and stand. I bought this because it is a relatively complete and good condition example of this early model jointer. I bought it from my local used tool store along with an incomplete 1950 model (missing some fence locking parts) of the same jointer for a total of $60.
