Comments:
I had the chance to have two Hall and Brown No. 1 jointer's together on the same trailer. I don't know if it is fair to say these are rare machines but they are at the least uncommon machines. After looking over the two I started to notice some small differences in the two and it occurred to me that no one might have the chance to document these differences again.

I don't know the dates but I have the shop numbers on two, this may help someone better date their machines. Mine is 13542 and the second machine and I assume the newer of the two is 14929. I will just refer to them as 13 and 14.

The two fences are surprisingly different (to me anyway). The 14 has all different castings. It doesn't appear anything is shared between them. My 13 still has one of the spring bar hold downs, I assume it came with two as shown on the catalogs.

Comments: The angle adjustments on the 13 is a locking handle in the center of the base casting. On 14 it has two wing nuts on the ends of the bas casting.

Comments: My fence, 13, has a round disk on the hold down arm that I have no idea its purpose or if it was original either.
