My father left this to me 2.5 years ago. He owned it for as long as I can remember. It sat in his shed for years and I feared it was not going to be usable. Fortunately, a little cleaning worked wonders for it. I believe that everything is original except the motor pulley. If I remember correctly it was damaged when the drill press fell over during an earthquake in Southern California in 1971. I don't know when my father replaced it.
It looks just like model 103.23130 for which there is a manual posted on this site. The only difference from mine is the last digit in the model number. Mine reads 103.23131. If anyone can tell me if the last digit indicates year as in 1950 & 1951, I would appreciate it.
I hope to do a more intense cleaning soon and will post updated photos.
Note - this entry was edited to update some machine specs. Regarding the question about the variation in serial number: Sears assigned different serial numbers for each different variation and/or accessory package that the saw could be bought with; the serial number difference does not necessarily indicate a different year of manufacture, and the serial numbers are not date coded.
