I was searching on c*list for a delta jointer and I found this. After an enjoyable drive through the county highways of Wisconsin, I met the seller,Gary, outside his woodshop. After inspecting the jointer, which is in great condition with the exception of being painted blue by its original owner (not Gary), i spent the rest of the afternoon checking out Gary's woodshop, which is incredible. I'm going to try to talk him into posting pictures of his tools, which include a vintage unisaw, an antique workbench (incredible), and a brand new 8" jointer- hence the need for him to sell me this delta.

As it turned out Gary is a member here, and had received some advice on the age of this machine. It says NJ 228, and nj 202 on the arn parts but no serial #, so it is believed to be from circa 1941. Any advice?

I'm going to break the whole thing down and repaint (Gray). I'll update when that happens. In the mean time here are some pictures of the jointer, separated from its base, and the base next to a delta contractors saw that i have brought back from the dead (another c*list find).
