I can remember see one of these tilting router tables in the early 80s in a Carpenter's Machinery warehouse in Philadelphia. One turned up many years later in an IRS auction in Hickory, NC. Of course it was mis-labeled, (Onsrud Horizontal Router) but was recognizable enough to anyone searching for early Stanley machines. The auction ended at $75 and a road trip was in the stars for myself and my youngest son. We also carted a Stanley Overarm Router from Tom Cannon in Pottstown, down to Tony Bradley. Tony is presently involved in several projects dealing with Ray L. Carter (of Carter Router fame) and was the perfect host, treating us to great barbecue, a shop tour, and his research notes.
The Onsrud air motor was removed, along with the Lovejoy adjustable motor mount and they were sent to one of my rat holes. Someone opted to cut an opening in the cast iron table to run a dust pick-up chute close to the Onsrud's business-end. That will be dealt with later. I also replaced the steel tube/column, because someone also cut/hacked a slot in that, possibly for a foot switch.
I got rid of my aluminum-decked Porter Cable rattle-trap router table last year, and it's nice to have a solid, vibration-free machine to take its place.
