I acquired this machine as part of the larger purchase of the contents of a Sash shop in Pawtucket Rhode Island. This is a babbit machine and was originally powered by line shaft. It was later retrofitted to accomodate a motor mounted to the back of the frame. I have a later version of this same sander where the base is wider to accept a direct couplrd motor. A definite improvement. This sander is badged Peerless and E. J. Bein. Manufactured in Newark, New Jersey.
