I bought this project from Ben at Pleasant Street Machinery several years ago. It was "cosmetically challenged" to say the least but mechanically it was very sound. I picked it up in Dekalb and continued on with saw in tow to the Great Googly Moogly sale at Boy's Tech in Milwaukee. At that sale I was fortunate enough to find a miter for the sliding table also.

I've seen pretty much every intimate naughty bit this old girl has to show. I had the machine down to the tiniest piece. Mechanically the only major piece of work was brazing up the revolving contacts that the fingers ride on to send power to the dual motors. The rest was mostly cleanup, paint and bodywork. I made a couple taper pins and locking tommy bar handles also. The piece de' resistance was repainting the screamin' chicken badge and miter scale.

The saw has been in service for a few years now and is starting to accumulate the battle scars that accompany a machine on skates in the tight quarters of my little shop space. So some of the minty freshness that it had after first being completed is gone. But it is still a very fine piece of machinery that should give years of satisfying performance for years to come.
