I picked up this great old Walker Turner cabinet saw from a guy advertising on Craigslist. He called it a "cast iron table saw". When I called and found out it had a cabinet base I jumped on it. I had to go to the lakes region of New Hampshire (look on a map of New Hampshire for NOWHERE- it was smack in the middle) in the middle of winter down two dirt roads. The machine was in an unheated barn. It looked like the sawdust had never been emptied from the cabinet. I couldn't find the two doors. I thought they might be under the sawdust, so I dug it all out. No doors, but I didn't have to haul all the old sawdust home.

The rust on the top wasn't bad, but because of all the sawdust packed in the base the rust was tough there. Lots of scraping and sanding and it came out fine. The arbor bearings were good and the motor runs fine. Had to rewire everything. Has the original "integrated breaker" switch, nifty micro-adjustable fence and self indexing miter gauge. I put a Delta jointer dust hood where the back door belongs (works great- I added a sloping partition in the cabinet to move dust towards the outlet)and fabricated a new side door.

Passed the nickel test the first time I fired it up.
