I inherited this bandsaw from my Father-in-law when I married my wife. From what I've been able to learn from Keith Bohn, it was probably made somewhere in the 20's, 30's or 40's. I only wish it looked as good as his! My Father-in-law was a machinist by trade and a perfectionist by nature. He made the wooden blade cover and apparently had to remake the lower wheel by using a sheet of aluminum cut to fit and then riveted to the wheel's outer rim.

The saw runs well enough that my wife is going to attempt to recover her youth by cutting out the decorative brackets we need to complete our backyard gazebo. She apparently spent many hours in the basement with her Dad using this bandsaw.

Note - this entry was edited to add Heston & Anderson as the manufacturer. See also the Blue Star 12" mini-snowflake, which was a Heston & Anderson label, which has the same frame but a different wheel cover. The original post date for this entry was 6/9/2003. The edit date is 5/10/2012. Admin/DG

As you can see, the tires are tired, and I need a new guide post lower bracket. Maybe someone will also have a line on the actual wheel cover for me.

Thanks for looking and thanks for such a great website!

Bill
