Comments:
I purchased this machine along with a second grinder/buffer for $40. Based on research of the 1949 and 1952 Craftsman Catalogs, as well as casting marks, I believe this is a Craftsman model 6647 'Heavy Duty' polishing head.

The body is cast iron, 9-1/16" tall and has a 15" swing.
Porous bronze bearings and spring cap oil cups.
Drive from rear or below is possible due to open rear casting.
Originally included a 3/8" 3-jaw chuck on one spindle.
Original, machined collars are AWOL.

Those are 6" buffing wheels in the before picture.

When I stripped the paint off, I found what appeared to be the original mossy green/gray paint. I have enough gray machines. Besides, I think she looks proper in Regal Blue.
