The machine was previously owned by West Durham Lumber Company in Durham, NC. It has been converted to electricity and since converted back to steam power. It is powered by a 100 HP Corliss Steam Engine via a line shaft.
Per the American Wood Working Machinery Company Catalog:
- This Machine has the top, bottom and outside heads and the Boring and Grooving Attachments.
- Floor space is 7'8" x 5'2"
- It requires 5 to 10 Horsepower
- It weighs approximately 2800 lbs.
