I had told my partner at work that I want to get back into woodworking and wished I had a lathe. He then told me that he had one I could have, it was in the back of an old truck in his back 40. I found it and it looked complete however needed alot of care to restore it. It then sat with me for about 2 months then after looking over this website I began working on it. 3 weeks later and some ebay fun getting a new motor for $13 bucks $10 for lathe tools. Then $16 bucks in 2x4's to build a table and another $50 in misc. "wire conections, belt, 4 step pulley, switch" I had a working lathe and began turning.:)
What I have found is that this was 1 year before the craftsmen 9" lathe model# 101.06242.
the only change in the 2 lathes are the front name plate that says Dunlap.
