This is the 8" jointer that was the motor cover donor. I bought this unit from a fellow OWWM member. I was blasting and painting the CI base panels and noticed that they were smaller. I scanned all the entries here and found no others that were height challanged. The base is 3.5" shorter than my other base. You will notice that 3" of the difference is on the bottom with another "apron".
The other Major difference between my two units is the motor plate on the donor its CI on my unit its bent steel plate.
The casting numbers are different but I didnt write them down I will share them later. Even the belt guard on the top is a little longer.
You may note that the "shorty" has a broken casting on the switch panel. There are some gussets on the taller one that extend to the apron. This also allows for 3 points of tie down (slots) to anchor it to the floor.
