I just aquired this model 270-D Oliver table saw. It is a well travelled machine! It was manufactured in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has a dealers tag on it from the S. A. Woods company in Boston, Massachusetts. I bought it from someone in Las Vegas, Nevada, and now it is making its home in Rindge, New Hampshire. It is the "D" version, which means it has a 5hp. motor and can take 16 inch blades. In addition it has the extra wide auxilliary table with a rip capacity of 44 inches to the right of the blade. The model J rip fence was missing its locating pins, so I turned new ones out of drill rod. What a great saw. Direct drive is the only way to go.
