My father acquiered this machine from a debt owed to him by an Amishman here in western NY State. Where the dutchman got it is unknown to me. He didn't get it set up to run before his business failed. The planer sat outside uncovered for at least 20 years and probably many more. In 2005, after many hours of TLC I got the machine running and soon discovered how well it performs. I power this with my 1941 McCormick Deering W-4 (also restored). In January of 2007 I painted this machine and have some new knives in the works. I plan to make flooring with this for my sons house, and if I can get or make the knives some wainscot would be nice. The jack shaft was missing so I had to scrounge up, and make some pulleys. This machine will plane up to 24x6, match up to 14x4 and weighs over 4000 pounds.
