My step-father bought this at a yard sale this summer. It wasn't marked for sale, but the owner agreed to part with it. It is a 1946 Delta Milwaukee Drill Press, Serial Number 47-9968, probably model number 14-207. It has a Jacob's Chuck on it currently. It is anticipated to see much use in the coming few months. The motor on the back is probably close to the same vintage. It is a Dayton Electrical Manufacturing 1/2hp, 1725rpm motor. he didn't know what he had until we discovered this website.
When purchased, the machine needed a little work, such as the return spring replacement, and the ball crank is missing. However, armed with our new owwm knowledge and some current Delta p/n's, I think we will get it going pretty quickly.
