This is my newest old machine, a Craftsman Belt Disc Sander with a base. I purchased this from the original owner who was selling off his tools to move into a retirement village. This has the 6 by 48 inch belt and a 9 inch disc driven by a 1/2 HP motor. This was the second purchase from this person in a week, the other I have to post, 1/2" spindle shaper. It was covered in cobwebs and dust as it was not used much. Was in a heated basement. I received over a half dozen belts and a few discs all for $125.00. He purchased several stationary tools to make his kitchen cabinets. The belt/disc sander cost $350.00 new. The first two pictures show the machine cleaned up and put together. After reading the owners manual I tried to get it to track. You can see from the third picture the problems he had with tracking. In checking out the bearings one seemed ever so slightly large and orange in color while the other three were black. I think he may have changed it and it was not an exact fit. So now it sits in a hundred pieces and I will be calling Accurate bearing in the morning. The only thing is the first three look original and easy to tell Accurate what they are, what about the fourth. And hopefully, you guys have not gotten me over confident in putting in new bearings after my successful first project (Delta Rockwell 8" Jointer).
