This planer is the property of the Badger Steam & Gas Engine Club of Baraboo, WI. The planer was donated to the club in 2003 by Carl Cotrone.
According to the club's Spring 2004 newsletter, available online at
http://www.badgersteamandgas.com/spring2004online.htm
the planer's vital statistics are as follows.
Width 56 inches
Length 117 inches
Height - 45 inches
Weight About 2 tons
"It has a three knife cutting head, which can accommodate knives up to 24 inches long. There are 10 inch knives in it now. There also two side cutters which are for making car siding. These appear to have been added at a later date, although the gear head for the side cutters is also a Tompkins patented design."
The above-mentioned article was written by Lyle and Wadena Opperman.
