I bought this lathe at a garage sell 2 years ago for $75. I was told it was purchased at a local school district surplus sell. It had obviously seen hard use and abuse. I repaired the tail stock and made several new parts to get it on line I used it for about 1 year untill the bearings gave out. I decided to tear it down and do the old wreck justice, I just finished getting it back together this morning. You'll note in one picture there is a penny balanced on the bed with the machine running. I also drilled the feet and tapped them for 5/8" bolts and lock nuts as leveling pads. The bed length is 53" which gives me a full 36" between centers. It has a Leeson 1 HP motor that came with it which I'm sure isn't the original but works great
