Comments:
I picked up this Delta tabletop drill press at an estate sale. The papers that came with it (bulletin A-14 and A-17 plus price lists) were from 1946. No bill of sale. The serial number and tag type indicate it was from before the Rockwell merger and the numbers indicate it was of 1944 or 1945ish manufacture (per serial number data on this web site). The casting number is 220. The motor is a Walker-Turner. The drill press has the Jacobs chuck and all its covers. It had been repainted green, probably in a high school shop. It has the arc of shame on its table, but the only real damage was a broken bolt on the motor tensioner. The motor on it is by Walker Turner, not the original motor. I put new bearings in it and the motor. It runs fine, much nicer than the cheapie late 70s craftsman 8" it is replacing.
