I found this 12" disk sander through the local classified paper in December 2004. A guy was moving and had a bandsaw, and lathe for sale, he had more than that! The hack turned the disk down to 9" because he had a gross of 9" sandpaper sheets (What a MAROON), it was still worth the $25 I paid. I was able to find a replacement platen through you wonderful people here for about 1/3 of what Delta wanted (THANKYOU!). I finished the restoration in January 2005. The serial number tag is a very heavy paper not the usual aluminum see last picture I think this is a VERY early machine this along with the 2 series serial number indicates early as well. If you have any info to date this machine more definativly please let me know!
Update, found in the right light there is a 5 next to the 2 (its faint). So serial number is 25-8908 making it a 1943 which conicides with the war and use of the paper to save the metal.
