This was my grandfather's. The machine is the same as the other 6" Walker-Turners pictured at this site, here are details from the cutter guard, or hold-down guard like it's called in the patent. It pivots in two directions, both with adjustable springs so it can bear on top of thin, wide workpieces, or narrower ones with a retractable push piece (I usually remove this because it gets in the way), and has a tall bearing to press work against the fence. It can also swing clear if you want to joint part of wider pieces.
