This is a Gardner Machine Works chucker made for the chair manufacturers up here in Gardner, MA. It has a manual clamp to hold the piece you are shaping. Then a foot pedal feeds the piece into the spinning chuck, cutting round tenons of various sizes.
Would be great for people making adirondack chairs who need to cut a lot of round tenons.
It was found in the shop of a cabinet maker in Framingham, MA.
