This shaper was used in a small cabinet shop in Birmingham AL. The owner had a stroke and his son had his machines in storage for approx 20 years. As far as I know they were never used during this time. Obviously, storage took it's toll on the machine and the others that were with it. When I meet Sam he was ready to send this and the others to the scrap yard. After all the years of storage he was ready to get them out of his garage. The shaper was complete and extremely original. It appears that the only thing that was changed was the start switch.
It has sat in my shop for several months. I had a need for the shaper in a couple of projects and decided it was time to refurbish it. I made the comment that it shouldn't take more than a week to do this. Then it sort of became a challenge to see if I could do it. Six days latter she was in place ready to go.
