I bought this machine at auction from the local High School in October of 2001. The pictures were taken right after I unloaded it from my truck. It was originally equipped with a 3-phase motor, and is the standard one-speed model designed for wood cutting. The stand is cast iron, including the belt housing. The wheels are also cast iron.

I intend to do a complete restoration and repaint when I can find the time, which probably means never. However, I have had enough time to replace the motor with a single-phase 1 HP Baldor (which was a very tight fit), replace the belt with a link-belt, install new urethane wheels, and replace the bearings. I was also able to rewire the original 3-phase switch when I found the proper heaters collecting dust at a local industrial surplus store.

I was going to look for a replacement lower door because the dust collector vent is a shop-made addition. Then I read somewhere that this is really the ideal method for dust collection on these saws. It really does work well, so I'll just leave it alone.

I have used the saw a number of times for general cutting and resawing and am totally satisfied with it. I'm glad I held out for a vintage saw instead of settling for a newer, lighter, and much more expensive model.
