Found this Cast Iron Base Jointer on the internet, advertised by a machine resale company. Purchased the machine in Waterloo, IA for $250.00 and brought it back to St. Louis. Came out of some school somewhere. Didn't run the machine, I could tell it needed work just from the abused condition of the blades. When I went to replace the cutter head bearings, I found that the cutter input shaft keyway grove had been sheared at one time and someone had actually welded up the cutter head input shaft with the bearing installed, this was obvious by the pulley diameter being larger than the bearing diameter. We had to machine down the shaft to remove the bearing. That was impressive :-), But still an good deal. Everything else was in good condition. Total tear-down and rebuild, including the motor. Repainted with Rust-Oleum Hammered grey and black paint.
