Finally the DP is finished, except the painting of the headstock and table. Earlier, I said I soaked the Jacob chuck so it would be free to turn. Yeah if I hold the driven pulley. So I took the chuck apart and really scrubbed off all the hardened grease. Now it spins nicely like brand new. Also found the right chuck key, a K3.
I didn't like to reach back to the motor switch to turn it on or off. So as I was looking around for some inspirational idea, I noticed the switch rod assembly on the Delta 6" jointer. I thought to myself, why not? I had some 3/16" round stock and went to work. It works beautifully!
The wooden table was originally made for the Jet 10" DP, but it looks and fits better on the Delta. Now I can get rid of the Chiwanese DP. Planning on some ideas of attaching the fence to the table without the uses of c-clamps.
