Update: No physical progress as yet, however research into age of saw has led to my acquiring 1937, 38 and 39 catalogs. This saw appears as "New" in 1937, but is no longer listed in any of the following years. Have updated the Date of Manufacture to be 1937.

Picked this up locally. My research shows it to be a model TA1150 tilt-arbor 10" tablesaw, built between 1937 and 1939. Listed in 1937 W/T catalog as NEW that year. 1940 catalog no longer shows this saw. Don't have catalogs in between. '37 catalog lists induction/repulsion motors available; '40 catalog lists capacitor-start motors. This has what appears to be original motor of the capacitor-type, so suspect it to be either 1938 or 1939 model. Motor options offered were 3/4 hp and 1 hp.

Appears to be complete and all original, save some Machinery Gray sprayed here and there on outer surfaces by seller to doll it up for sale. He had picked it up at estate sale and was flipping it, not having ever used it. Appears to have been well cared for most of its life. Everything intact, not ever mucked with. Nuts and bolts underneath still with shiny bright plating. Exposed outer surfaces now have very light rust coating and rattle-can paint, except top which is still rust (and paint)-free. Top doesn't appear to have been cleaned, perhaps just kept covered when stored.

Presently wired for 220v, convertable to 110v. Fitted with 1 hp Driver motor and GE thermal-overload switch. Mounted on original factory stand with fence, guard and miter. Ruggedly built, massive cast iron body and motor carriage. Motor hangs below pendulum-fashion. Details of motor carriage shown in additional photos referenced below. Aluminum blade insert retained by spring-loaded plungers front and rear. Splitter still shows bit of original machined (circular pattern) surface treatment.

Catalog lists weight at 250 lb without motor and it is all of that. Bigger than perhaps photos suggest, top with extensions measures 36.5" x 27". Housing measures 14" high. Saw and frame together are 38" high overall without casters, 41" including casters.

Shown in condition as purchased. Will now coat with rust-preventative and try to find a corner to tuck it into until I can do a full restore. The queue of such projects just got longer. ;-)
