Got this after looking for one at a fair price for several years from your favorite auction place. $202.50. Picked it up in San Antonio where the guy doing the auction for the company said they used to just take all the old stuff to the metal recycler/dump when they were finished with them. This place gets lots of government contracts so money is only numbers on paper to them it seems. They had metal lathes, Dake bandsaws, Scotchman ironworkers, and other giant metalworking tools ready to either auction or scrap. This saw was the smallest tool there, and the dirtiest. At least 1/8" of oily filings all over the outside and inside. 3ph motor will be swapped for 1ph. Missing high speed pulley, belt cover knob and catch, upper guide thumbscrew, column blade guard, and cover nuts. I will have to weld and bondo the upper door where the blade cut through.
A diamond in the rough, to be sure. I think this is one of the coolest looking tools Delta ever made. Now I just need a pre-1960 Delta lathe and I can quit buying old arn.
