This machine trimmed the edges of wood shingles after they were sawn on a single saw. It cut them in two if they were too wide, or trimmed off knot holes or rot. It is currently yard art and was forrest art for 50 years before that. It could be restored, except the actual hinged arms that hold the shingles while they pass by the blade were partly wood, and it isn't aparent just how they held the shingles or how the operator controlled the cut without getting his fingers too close to the blade. I have also seen a shingle saw by FJ Drake, made on the Perkins patent with a horizontal blade.
