Comments:
Bought it used from a woodworker in parts, with a nice GE motor with variable speed crank.
I replaced the old flat belt pulleys with two V-belt sheaves and made a cantilevered motor mount for it. I used it like that for over 12 years even though the angled motor added a couple modes of vibration. In 2005 I cut it slightly shorter (was 7 ft. between ctrs) and mounted it on a trailer for mobile demonstrations. Now the motor mount is separate and beefier, and vibration is less, despite the mobile platform.

I suppose replacing the ways with two large wood beams like the other Porter on this site could make it even smoother.
