I purchased this machine inexpensively in the spring of 2002, following-up on an add in the local paper. I used an old 3450 rpm Craftsman motor with 2 1/2" diameter pulley to drive it: the power and belt speed seem perfect. It sands efficiently without burning and is rock solid: tracking is super. Initially I used an old Sears stand (1st photo) and it worked well. Later I found a Rockwell/Delta stand and base from a more recent model on Ebay. It now sits on an HTC mobile base so I can move it around my shop. I purchased a current model back stop (photo 2), auxiliary fence (photo 1) and side/end guards (photos 2 & 3) and they fit perfectly. The auxiliary fence is really neat because it allows use in a manner similar to a jointer without fear of chipping and tearout in grainy woods such as figured maple. The machine is now fully guarded and a pleasure to use. I found on Ebay, the table for use in the upright position. Delta generously provided me with an owner's manual and parts list. I'm amazed that you can still easily get parts from Delta for a 61 year old machine and they fit perfectly.
