An evolution from Steptoe, Mcfarlan. to J. Steptoe. From two man shop, south end of Iola, Allen Co. Ks. One of three found in this area, two from Allen Co., one from 60 miles east. A good salesman in this territory? The most noteable diff. is casting of foot pedal, the older [Steptoe,Mcfarlan] being more rounded and graceful. I experimented on all three, and no pieces were interchangable. Traces of paint on two of the three leads to red being original color. One J.Steptoe I've used often for demonstrations. A good machine.
