The cutterhead of this machine is suspended on ball-bearings and has an original S.A. Woods 3hp 3 phase motor. The name "Power" into the front of the machine. It does not resemble the "Lpower" jointers that I have seen both photos of and catalog cuts of. It is very similar to the current Northfield jointers. The jointer currently has a "American Machinery and Motor Co." cutterhead guard which is definitely not original. The infeed table on this machine is very wide, 22 1/2" consequently many cutterhead guard will not fit properly on the machine. The outfeed table is 25 1/2" wide.
The serial # of the motor is 37577.
I replaced the magnetic switch with a VFD which allows me to soft start and run it on my 220 house current.
