Iola Planing Mill mortiser.It's quite an experience using a reciprocating mortiser.There is a lot going on right in front of your face. An essintial machine in a sash shop and mills that did light work. I had cut deep mortises in walnut making entry doors and felt I was nearing it's limits. Would like to find someone with one in operation to learn more of this class of mortisers capabilities. It is hard to see in the picture but the eagle & shield emblem is in the casting at the top of the frame as in the catalog etching, although the casting is not pierced as it seems to be in catalog.
